At some point, whether you’re in school, at your first job, or a decade into your career, you’re going to want to look for a job. You might want to change fields or you might want to move. You may be looking for a different challenge or you just may be tired of doing what you’re doing and want to try it out at a new company.
Whatever the reason or the time, you’re going to have to go through the hiring process.
And to do so, you’re going to have to understand what happens when companies are hiring and what you can do to make your interview more successful.
The thing about any job is, a company likely gets lots of resumes — in fact, about 250 for any opening. That’s a lot of competition before you even get in the door. How do you stand out then, and when you finally get the interview? This graphic can help.
“Arrive Early” seems simple, but is a HUGE factor. I learned a long time ago that candidates that arrive just in the nick of time to an interview are often perpetually late on the job. Not always, but something I have to consider.
Hi Rodney, thanks for your input. I agree, arriving early does seem to be one that Managers look at. Also, I think it’s best to arrive early to have some time to settle in and relax before the interview vs. getting there right no time and going into it right away.
